How is the training
delivered? Usually
it will by block week training at either a local college or a national centre
with close links with either a dealership or supplier. |

What age do I have to be? The
entry age is from 16 years of age. The candidate will start to study towards
their Modern Apprenticeship in Landbased Service Engineering Level 2.

When do I complete my
training? The
Apprenticeship programme usually last between 3 -4 years. This is a combination
of both college / training provider based training and work based hands on
training from the company who employs the candidate.

What qualifications will I
achieve? A
City & Guilds / BAGMA Level 2 & 3 in Landbased service Engineering. The
candidate will also achieve a Progression Award in Landbased Service
Engineering. A Modern Apprenticeship in Landbased Service Engineering, a
tractor driving certificate, an emergency first aid certificate, abrasive wheels
certificate, lift truck certificate and two other industry specific
certificates.

Will I get paid when I’m
training? Yes
– you will be earning a wage as you are employed by a dealer. It will generally
be higher than the minimum wage.

Will I spend time away at
college? Yes
– During your block course training you will be spending time away from home
with other trainees on your course from across the country.

What machines will I train with?
There
are 4 potential pathways for you to follow: agricultural machinery, domestic
garden machinery, professional groundcare machinery, forestry machinery.
